Exhibition. Opened September 29, 2012, and closed September 29, 2013. Located on Floor 1 in the IMAX Corridor at the American Museum of Natural History. "Winged Tapestries: Moths at Large" was an exhibit of more than 30 images from Ottawa-based photographer Jim des Rivieres which highlighted the beauty and diversity of moths.

Description

"Winged Tapestries: Moths at Large" was an exhibit of more than 30 images from Ottawa-based photographer Jim des Rivieres which highlighted the beauty and diversity of moths. The exhibition displayed close-up images of moths and discussed ways in which they differ from butterflies, how moths elude predators, and the life stages of a moth. Also on view were specimens from the Museum's collection representing the 34 species whose images appear in the exhibition. The exhibit was produced by the Canadian Museum of Nature, Ottawa, Canada. Made possible by the support of the Arthur Ross Foundation, the exhibit was on view in the IMAX corridor of the American Museum of Natural History from September 29, 2012 through September 29, 2013.
