Artist

Andrew Janson painted some murals for the historic AMNH Petrology Hall and for the AMNH Department of Herpetology through the Works Progress Administration. The paintings included "Mont Pelee, Martinique", "Kilauea, Hawaii", "Active Volcanos of the World", and "Mt. Vesuvius, Italy". For Herpetology, Janson made two oil paintings, both 44-inches high x 124-inches wide. One was a deer and snake in tropical vegetation, the other was a scene of lizards in tropical vegetation.
