Game Hunter

Lieutenant Colonel John Champion Faunthorpe was a soldier, big game hunter, and conservationist. Faunthorpe and Arthur S. Vernay led the Faunthorpe-Vernay Expedition of the American Museum of Natural History (1922-1923) to collect mammals for the museum's South Asiatic Hall. Faunthorpe died of pneumonia eleven months prior to the opening of the hall
