George Kruck Cherrie was an American field naturalist and took part in several expeditions including Theodore Roosevelt's expeditions to Brazil in 1913-1914 and 1916-1917. He took part in many AMNH South American expeditions and field assingnments. Several thousand of Cherrie's specimens are now incorporated in the AMNH Department of Ornithology's collection
