Exhibition. Opened July 9, 1981 and closed September 9, 1981. Located in the Akeley Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Pressed on Paper: Fish Rubbings and Nature Prints," a national touring exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, was composed of paper prints made by printmakers in the United States and Canada.

Summary

"Pressed on Paper: Fish Rubbings and Nature Prints," a national touring exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, was composed of paper prints made by printmakers in the United States and Canada. The prints were made by coating the specimen with oil paint or ink and transferring an impression onto paper. In addition to prints of fish, the exhibition also included examples of invertebrates and plants. The exhibition was an Arthur Ross Exhibit of the Month and was on view in the Akeley Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from July 9 through September 9, 1981.
