Exhibition. Opened March 10, 1981 and closed May 15, 1981. Located in the Akeley Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Bird, Cloud and Snake: Hopi Symbols," a companion exhibition to "Hopi Kachina: Spirit of Life" featured selections from the Museum's collection of Hopi pottery and textiles, several paintings by modern Hopi artists, and a series of sculptures and paintings on Hopi themes by German artist Horst Antes.

Summary

"Bird, Cloud and Snake: Hopi Symbols," a companion exhibition to "Hopi Kachina: Spirit of Life" featured selections from the Museum's collection of Hopi pottery and textiles, several paintings by modern Hopi artists, and a series of sculptures and paintings on Hopi themes by German artist Horst Antes. This Arthur Ross Exhibit of the Month was on view in the Akeley Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from March 10 through May 15, 1981.
