Summary

"La Pasion en Ixtapalapa" was an exhibition of photographs by David Linton documenting a Mexican folk portrayal of the Crucifixion. The photographs traced the ceremony from the moment when the crowd gathered, though the procession and the Crucifixion, ending with a fiesta atmosphere that followed the performance. The design and layout of the exhibition were done by George Ancona, an artist born in Mexico. The exhibition was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from March 24 through April 24, 1955.
