Exhibition. Opened September 11, 1953 and closed September 27, 1953. Located in the Corner Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History. "Watercolors By Natives of Southwest" featured watercolors by the Pueblo peoples of the American Southwest from the collection of Mrs. Harold Platt Daniels.

Summary

"Watercolors By Natives of Southwest" featured watercolors by the Pueblo peoples of the American Southwest from the collection of Mrs. Harold Platt Daniels. The collection, approximately 60 paintings, featured the works by well-known contemporary American Indian artists and talented beginners. The subjects included Hopi Kachina dancers, lithe antelope and deer, and a mother and her papoose. The paintings were rendered in native traditional style and were done by many tribes in the area. The collection was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from September 11 through September 27, 1953.
