Summary

"A Designer's Interpretation of Nature" featured paintings by Simon Lissim. The exhibition included Lissim's paintings with oriental themes, book illustrations, stage and costume designs and patterns of china. Plant and animal forms were used as the subject of paintings as well as design elements in costumes and backgrounds. The exhibition was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from February 6 through March 1, 1953.
