Summary
"Paintings of Weather" featured paintings by Helmut Siber. Siber painted the fast changing aspects of the sky--depicting clouds where artistic perception and scientific observation were balanced. Museum documentation from 1954 states the exhibition included his series showing the development of storms: one in the Balsam Mountain Range of North Carolina, another in the Berkshires, a rainstorm over the Smokies and a snowstorm in the Sierra Nevada. The exhibition was on view in the Corner Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from June 8 through July 30, 1951 and again starting December 3, 1954.
