Summary
Rare African Butterflies featured nearly 100 butterflies collected by Arthur S. Vernay during the Vernay-Nyasaland Expedition (1946-1947). The butterflies on exhibition were part of a gift of over 2,000 butterfly specimens obtained by Vernay on the expedition. The exhibition included butterflies from the genera Papilio and Charaxes (1, p. 1-2).
