Summary

"Nottbeck Animal Paintings" featured animal paintings and drawings by Alfred de Nottbeck. Baron de Nottbeck worked in oils, tempura, charcoal and pencil using the special qualities of a medium to define the physical characteristics of each animal. Sources for his exotic animal studies were zoos and circuses in Europe and the United States, The artwork was on view in the Corner Gallery at the American Museum of Natural History from June 15 to August 23, 1948.
