Exhibition. Opened in October 4, 1996 and closed December 31, 1996. Located in Section 18, Floor 1 in the Guggenheim Space Theater of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History. "Martian Meteorites and Space Probes" was an exhibition of four Martian Meteorites from the Museum's collection along with two full-scale models of Martian space probes: Mars Pathfinder and Mars Pathfinder Rover.

Summary

"Martian Meteorites and Space Probes" was an exhibition of four Martian Meteorites from the Museum's collection along with two full-scale models of Martian space probes: Mars Pathfinder and Mars Pathfinder Rover. Also on view was a full-scale model of the Mars Global Surveyor. The exhibit described the recent discovery that life may have evolved on Mars, examined how the meteorites on view formed, and outlined upcoming NASA missions to Mars. The exhibit was on view in the Guggenheim Space Theater of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History from October 4 through December 31, 1996.
