"Indios e Caboclos: Charles Wagley's Amazon Portrait" was an exhibition featuring 50 photographs highlighting anthropologist Charles Wagley's research among the Tapirape Indians and peasants (caboclos) of central Brazil. Wagley's photographs portrayed the indigenous peoples and their vanishing lifestyle taken from 1939 through the 1950's. The exhibit was on view in the Akeley Gallery of the American Museum of Natural History from March 12 through May 9, 1993.
