Exhibition. Opened November 13, 1973 and closed February 28, 1974. Located on Floor 1 in Gallery 77 at the American Museum of Natural History. Daniel Giraud Elliot: A Naturalist and His Artists, which coincided with the opening of the Museum Library's Rare Book Room, featured specimens from Elliot's bird collection, related memorabilia, and more than 50 original paintings and drawings from European artists, commissioned by Elliot.

Daniel Giraud Elliot: A Naturalist and His Artists, which coincided with the opening of the Museum Library's Rare Book Room, featured specimens from Elliot's bird collection, related memorabilia, and more than 50 original paintings and drawings from European artists, commissioned by Elliot (1, p. 1). Mrs. (Virginia) Alfred Lee Loomis, Jr., a Museum Trustee, who contributed financially to the Rare Book Room project, also participated in the preparation of the exhibition (2, p. 33).
