Summary
Casts of Maya Heads featured two casts of Maya stucco heads that were subsequently installed in the Hall of Mexico and Central America. The heads were excavated from a tomb in the Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque, Mexico. They were presented to the Museum by the Museo Nacional de Antropología and were later installed in the Museum's Mexican and Central American Hall. The exhibition included photographs showing the progress of the excavations, a cross-section of the pyramid and a drawing of the relief on the lid of the sarcophagus (1).
