Summary
Tropical Animal Life: Paintings by Isabel Cooper was an exhibition of water colors of animals observed at the New York Zoological Society's Tropical Research Station in Kartabo, Guyana (1, p. 36). The exhibition was organized with the support of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New York Zoological Society (2, p. 651).
The Museum’s 1922 Annual Report states that Anna Heyward exhibited series of textile designs based on the plant life of the same location as those on which Cooper’s work was based, but it is unclear as to whether they were part of the same exhibition (1, p. 36).
This is a condensed summary of the exhibition. For additional information, see Sources and/or Related Resources.
